Professor attends global health conference
Associate Professor of Health and Human Performance Sarah Imam, M.D., attended the Medical and Health Humanities: Global Perspective 2025 conference at Weill Cornell Medicine-Qatar in Doha, Qatar. Imam spoke about The Citadel’s educational strategies for prospective health professions students, emphasizing how the program incorporates empathy and humanity into health science programs.
“There was a lot of interest in what we are doing at The Citadel,” said Imam. “I have been invited to a few different schools to help them design their programs.”
While there, Imam connected with global leaders in healthcare from several countries, including the United Kingdom, Austria, South Africa, Iraq, China and Russia. “I learned so much about medical education and the development of clinically proficient and caring health professionals,” said Imam.
