‘Tis the season for service learning
In December, cadets took a break from their studies to make a difference in the Lowcountry. They made almost 20 no-sew blankets that were donated to Charlestowne Landing, Camp Happy Days and Hope to Home. Several cadets made holiday cards for seniors at Kempton of Charleston, an assisted-living facility on Spring Street. And cadets in the Rotaract Club made holiday cards for employees who work in the mess hall. They also volunteered alongside the Charleston Breakfast Rotary Club, building and decorating playhouses as part of a new East Cooper Habitat for Humanity program designed to teach children of families in need about home ownership.
