First Responders Club Meeting with State Fire Marshal

On Monday November 14, 2022 South Carolina State Fire Marshal Jonathan Jones, Asst. Chief Clarendon County Fire Department (Vol. Ret.) Class of ’91 Jay Bruner, and Captain Joe Curtis City of Charleston Station 8 Class of ’95, spoke to Cadets regarding a career in Fire.

firefighter — The meet and greet focused on how well The Citadel experience integrates into building a foundation for success in the fire service. Chief Jones explained to The Cadets how a career as a fire fighter is much more then just fighting fires. Chief Jones informed The Cadets that their are opportunities to become: a fire inspector, fire investigator, fire marshal, swift water rescue, technical rescue, EMT/paramedic.
