Welcome to the 2024-2025 Rifle Legion Leadership page. Our cadet leadership has been hand-selected based on the demonstration of drill, attention to detail, leadership, and work ethic skills to ensure the most upright performance for our team.
Commanding Officer
Cadet Clayton Vande-Burgt

Cadet Vande-Burgt, class of 2026 and part of November Company. He was born in Sissonville, West Virginia, and currently lives in Beaufort, South Carolina. He is a Political Science Major and is pursuing work in the military as a lawyer, also known as JAG, in the United States Marine Corps. Cadet Vande-Burgt has 3 years in the Color Guard but has recently tapped into Exhibition to lead the Rifle Legion team the best. He is also a Marksman and takes pride in being November’s Supply Sergeant.
He has been on the team for 3 years. He was chosen to be the Commander after his experience as the 1st Sergeant in his previous year and hisposition in the Color Guard Squad. He works closely with SFC Greene to instill proper logistics and operations in the team.
1st Sergeant
Cadet David Luna

Cadet Luna, class of 2027, and part of Palmetto Battery (PB). He is from Chicago, Illinois, but he currently lives in Pecs, Hungary. He is a double major in Intelligence and Security Studies. He is pursuing work in the military as an intelligence or artillery officer in the United States Marine Corps. Cadet Luna has 2 years on the Regulation, and Color Guard Squads. He is also on the Marine Corps E-Team (Endurance Team) and enjoys running, drill, and shooting.
As the 1st Sergeant of the team, he works hand-in-hand with Cadet Vande-Burgt and SFC Greene to provide support to instill proper logistics and handle other affairs of the team. Not only is he the 1st SGT, but he also helps the freshman navigate through Rifle Legion as a group.
Executive Officer
Cadet Jayden Salley

Cadet Salley, class of 2027, part of Oscar Company. His current Rank is Battalion Clerk for the Fourth Battalion. He is a Mechanical Engineering Major pursuing work in the military as an Aviator, in the United States Navy. Cadet Salley has 6 years on the Exhibition team and leads the Rifle Legion team in performances such as at Basketball Games. Cadet Salley enjoys spending time with his family and exercising.
He has been on the team for 2 years. He works hand-in-hand with Cadet Luna, Cadet Vande-Burgt, and SFC Greene to provide support for proper logistics and handle other team affairs. Not only is he the XO, but he also leads the group in Exhibition as a whole.
