The QuarterMaster Account
The College Catalog contains a brief description of the uniform, books and supplies fee in the expenses section. This fee is commonly referred to as the QuarterMaster Account and will reflect on a cadet’s student billing account as QM-OneCard Restricted Funds.
The Citadel determines the amount required for the QuarterMaster fee per semester. Freshman expenses will be higher than upperclassmen due to one-time expenses such as uniforms in their first year.
The funds from the assessment of the QuarterMaster fee are transferred to a cadet’s QM-OneCard and are designed to cover the minimal costs associated with the cadet’s purchase of books, academic supplies, uniforms, accessories, haircuts, dry cleaning and tailor shop charges. Use of these funds is restricted to items of necessity.
Cadets have an option to appeal for a one-time $500 Emergency Advance. The appeal will review the current QM-OneCard balance to determine if any additional funds are needed to cover that advance up to $500 and will be charged to the cadet’s student account.
CITADEL QUARTERMASTER APPEAL FOR ONE-TIME EMERGENCY ADVANCE
Cadets also have the option to appeal for reimbursement of education-related expenses from their QuarterMaster account for items that cannot be purchased in the on campus bookstore or bookstore website.
CITADEL QUARTERMASTER APPEAL FOR REIMBURSEMENT OF EDUCATION-RELATED EXPENSES
QuarterMaster funds are refunded at the end of every academic year, or if a cadet withdraws or is placed on suspension. Funds will only be refunded after all outstanding fees are paid to The Citadel.
