The Veteran Student Success Center is hiring!
We are looking for two graduate-level students who are interested in serving as our Career Coach and Resiliency Coach for the Fall 2024 and Spring 2025 semester. Students must be enrolled in graduate courses at The Citadel and be able to commit to 12 hours of availability, preferably in person and on campus however, some work may be done remotely. Career Coach
Career Coaching
Career coaching educates, empowers, and equips students to achieve their professional goals by becoming active participants in the process. This includes guidance on developing career–related skills outside the classroom needed to be successful and reach their goals.

- Better Understanding of Career Opportunities,
- Interview Skills,
- Access to Information on Internships and Job Listings,
- Resume Development,
- Setting Career Goals and Developing Next Steps
- Networking and Communications Skills, and

Program Elements
- 20-minute student and coach sessions led by the student’s needs and current challenges.
- Career coaching sessions will be available online or in person depending on the student’s preference and availability.
- Will develop handouts associated with the elements listed above and more to provide students to take with them.
- Tracking and reporting mechanisms will be developed and put in place in order to ensure all students are being contacted each semester whether they accept academic coaching or not.
Compensation:
This position is a Graduate Assistant Position and will be paid $15/hour for a maximum of 20 hours per week during the scheduled academic year (September through April).
Resiliency Coach
Resiliency Coaching
The definition of resiliency mentions a person’s ability to adjust or recover from adversity or major life changes. While our Veteran students have displayed resiliency throughout their service and for many throughout their lives, an educational setting and high expectations in a new environment adds a unique pressure.
